The register, the deadline, the clause
Legal contract management for small legal teams
Every small legal team ends up keeping the company's contracts somewhere, and for most that somewhere is a shared drive, a spreadsheet and the general counsel's memory. Clauselane is two free worksheets and one paid record for the US legal team of one to five people in a company of fifty to five hundred. The first takes the contracts on the register, their average term, notice period and value, and returns the renewals and notice deadlines falling due in the window you choose and the value riding on them. The second takes one contract's term, months elapsed, notice period and value and returns its days remaining, the days until its notice deadline, its remaining value and what one renewal is worth. Both compute in the page with no account and no trial clock.
Free for 14 days. No card needed.
Clauselane Pro is $49 per month for your whole legal team, billed monthly.

| Tools | answers they give back | Free tools, on the worked example | |
|---|---|---|---|
| Legal contract lifecycle management sheet | Turn one contract's term, months elapsed, notice period and value into its days remaining, the days until its notice deadline, its value to date and remaining, and what one renewal is worth, from the contract's own terms. | 90 Days until the notice deadline | Free tools |
| Contract tracking calculator | Turn the contracts on the register into the renewals and notice deadlines due in the window you choose, the annual value riding on them and the value that renews itself unless notice is given, from your own count, term, notice period and value. | $270,000 Annual value renewing in the window | Free tools |
The deadlines are worked out. Keeping them is Clauselane Pro.
The worksheet gives you one window's deadlines and one contract's dates. Pro remembers them: the contracts, their obligations, the matters, the clauses, and the reminder that arrives before the notice deadline rather than after the renewal.
- Download the contract summary as a file you can send to the business
- Hand it over without the Clauselane watermark across it
- Come back to this contract's summary with the figures still in it
- Put your own logo on the summaries and reports the business sees
- Send a contract owner their notice deadline without leaving the register
- Not used by Clauselane: nothing here takes a payment from your counterparties
- Push the register's contract values across to the books as commitments
The register, the deadline, the clause
One place for every contract the company has signed
Every contract with its term, notice period, value and owner, on one list the business can see
A contract in a shared drive is a PDF nobody opens until it is too late. On the register it is a row with dates that count down, a value the finance team can total, and an owner who is asked before the deadline rather than after the renewal.
The reminder arrives before the notice deadline, not after the renewal
An evergreen clause renews the contract while nobody is looking, and the notice period is the only window in which the company can act. Pro counts the days to each notice deadline and reminds the owner in time, so the renewal is a decision rather than a discovery.
The clauses the company has already agreed, ready to assemble the next contract from
Every negotiated contract leaves behind clauses the team would sign again. The library keeps them by type, with the fallback positions, so a new contract is assembled from what has already been agreed instead of redrafted from the last PDF.
Should you just buy a contract lifecycle management platform instead?
If you need e-signature, approval workflows, redlining in the browser, AI review and a procurement portal for the whole company, buy a contract lifecycle management platform and do not read on. Clauselane is for the legal team that has signing handled and needs one thing kept properly: what the company has signed, what it commits to, when it renews and who owns it. It is priced and scoped for that and nothing else.

Competitor pricing read 2026-09-05: ContractSafe sells a Jump Start service in which its paralegals load a customer's contracts, purchasable from $2.50 per contract (contractsafe.com/pricing); its plan prices are quoted on the page in a form this site does not repeat. The figure is sourced in research/data/claims.tsv with its retrieval date; prices change and the vendor's own page is the authority.
